How Do You Pronounce "Fentanyl"?

I’m often asked how to correctly pronounce the word “fentanyl.”

I don’t know! I’ve always said “fent*a*nil.”

In the clip above, however, you’ll notice that upon second mention I say “fent*a*nol.”

That is how addicted users and cops usually say it. It’s not clear to me how a word spelled “fentanyl” can rhyme with “alcohol,” but…
