Not long ago my book Fentanyl, Inc. was published in Korean, and it was a joyful thing. I mean, look at that cover; it’s a work of art. (More amazing graphics relating to the book can be seen on the publisher SoWooJoo’s Instagram page.)
For comparison, here’s the UK / Australian / New Zealand edition. I mean, I still like it, but it ranks lower on the pizzazz-o-meter.
And then there’s the Hungarian edition of Original Gangstas. I love this one, even if I have no idea who some of those guys are on the cover.
Another of my favorites is the Spanish language version of Fentanyl, Inc., renamed The End Of the Party. But as cool as it is, is it better than the mock-up version below, which ultimately lost out?
Perhaps this one was rejected because the ball of string on the table looks disturbingly like a baby doll’s head.
There are also German editions of both Fentanyl, Inc. and Original Gangstas, and French and Russian versions of OGs. (I guess this is the Russian paperback? Pretty cool cubist rendering of Ice Cube’s head.)
Why am I telling you all of this? Because any of them could be yours if you submit a question for me to answer in a future post. The question can be about anything relating to drugs or hip-hop, and, though I’ll answer many, only the author of my favorite submission wins the free book.
