Yuancheng Responds To My Allegations

L to R: Ye Chuan Fa, Amy, and Amy

In December, the U.S. Department of Justice unsealed an indictment against Chinese chemical company owner Ye Chuan Fa, charging him with selling fentanyl precursor chemicals. The State Department offered $5 million for information leading to his capture.

Ye is the subject of my book Fentanyl, Inc. In 2018 I went undercover into his Wuhan company, called Yuancheng, chatted with him and members of his hundreds-strong salesforce, and determined Yuancheng was fueling the worst drug crisis in American history by selling more fentanyl precursors than any other company. His biggest customer? The Mexican cartels.

U.S. federal officials gave my work credit for assisting their investigation.

Since my book was published, however, Ye and I haven’t spoken. I had no idea what he thought of me, until now. A few weeks ago Yuancheng officially responded to the indictment with a “Declaration” filed with the U.S. Attorney’s Office of Northern Texas, attempting to clear their name.

It’s a great read, if poorly translated. They blame me for everything!
